Town Council

The Town Council of the Town of Charlestown consists of five (5) members elected at large in even numbered years in November. The Council’s regular meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall. The Council holds an Agenda Meeting the Wednesday before the regular Council meeting to review the items to be placed on the regular agenda. If you would like an item on the Council agenda, said item must be submitted to the Town Clerk the Friday before the agenda meeting by noon (10 days before the Town Council meeting). Council meetings are posted at the Town Hall, on the monthly calendar and in the Westerly Sun. All Council meetings, including special and emergency meetings and workshops shall be open to the public, except those exempt under the provisions of Title 42, Chapter 46, of the R.I. General Laws.
